Pharmacology - Cromoglicate
An action of cromoglicate: On some patients, moderate inhibition of allergens and exercise-induced asthma and bronchial hyperreactivity was observed; however, this was not the case for all patients. It had no effect on the bronchial spasm. Method of Operation It is possible that this is accomplished through an action on chloride channels in the plasma membranes, which inhibits the degranulation of mast cells as well as the response of sensory C fibers to irritants (in the early phase) and eosinophil activation (in the delayed phase). The powder is inhaled by the patient. Use in Clinical Settings The prevention of asthma, particularly in children who are older. in order to alleviate the allergic rhinitis symptoms. Allergies and Reactions The powder had an irritating effect on the throat.
