KembaraXtra – Legal Terms – Inhibition
An inhibition is a restriction entered on the land register that prevents certain dealings with registered land, such as sale or mortgage, for a specified period. It was a mechanism used under earlier land registration legislation.
Although no longer available under modern land law, inhibition has been replaced by restrictions serving a similar purpose. These mechanisms protect interests in land by ensuring transactions cannot proceed without compliance with specified conditions.
