An injunction is a court order requiring a person to do, or refrain from doing, a specific act. Injunctions are discretionary remedies granted where damages would be inadequate to prevent harm.
They may be temporary or permanent and are often used to prevent ongoing or threatened wrongdoing. Failure to comply with an injunction may result in contempt of court, carrying serious legal consequences.
