KembaraXtra – Legal Terms – Interfering with Trade or Business

Interfering with trade or business is a tort involving deliberate interference with another person’s economic activities through unlawful means. Unlike inducing breach of contract, it does not require proof of an existing contract.

The tort protects economic interests from malicious or unlawful disruption. Its scope is restricted in labour disputes to balance business protection with collective worker action.
