Legal Terms - Access to neighboring land
According to the Access to Neighbouring Land Act 1992, a landowner has the legal right to enter another person's land in order to do essential repairs or maintenance on their own property. The County Court has the authority to grant an access order, which will define the scope of access and any corresponding payment. In order for the access order to have legal effect on future buyers of the land, it must be officially registered.
