Legal Terms - Agrement
Agrément refers to the official diplomatic notification given by a state to indicate its acceptance of a diplomatic agent chosen by another state to be dispatched to it.

That is, i.e., is considered welcome and can therefore be approved for accreditation. An agrément is the response to a request made by the sending state before the official appointment and recognition of a diplomat. The process of reciprocal interchange between two governments regarding their diplomatic representation is referred to as "agréation." This informal technique is used to establish the acceptability of the representative to the host state before to the official appointment. Merely expressing a wish may be sufficient to prevent an appointment from being scheduled. Once agrément has been granted, a demand for its cancellation can only be justified by good cause.
