An Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ) is a designated area, sometimes extending up to 300 miles beyond a state's territorial sea, established by certain countries for security purposes around their coastlines. Upon entering the ADIZ, all aircraft must provide identification, submit flight plans, and notify ground control of their precise location.
