Legal Terms - Auditor
An auditor is an individual or company that is appointed to scrutinize the financial records and accounts
and to examine the financial records of a legally established corporation and provide a detailed report to the company's shareholders. The auditor's report must explicitly indicate whether or not, in the auditor's professional judgment, the financial statements have been accurately compiled and provide an accurate and unbiased representation of the company's financial status. The Companies Act 2006 outlines the necessary credentials for auditors and grants them certain powers to carry out their duties efficiently.
