Legal Terms - Blacklist
blacklist: a list of trade union members' personal information, particularly that of activists, that is compiled with the intention of being used by outside parties—usually employers and their associations—to discriminate against applicants and employees. The Employment Relations Act 1999 (Blacklists) Regulations 2010, which forbid the compilation, use, sale, or supply of such lists for the purposes of hiring or discriminatory treatment, rendered the use of such lists illegal (see also Employment Relations Act 1999 § 3).
