Legal Terms - care contact order
A court order granting a local authority the ability to limit *interaction with a child who is under their care (see to CARE ORDER). According to section 34(1) of the Children Act 1989, there is a presumption that children who are in the care system will have regular and appropriate contact with their parents (including unmarried parents) or those who have previously taken care of them. During an emergency situation, a local governing body has the ability to deny contact for a maximum of seven days if it determines that such action is required to protect or enhance the well-being of the child. Subsequently, one might request court approval for extended refusals.
