Legal Terms - Completion
Completion is the term used to describe the moment in land law when ownership of a plot of land covered by a contract for sale changes hands. In exchange for the title deeds and, in the event that the land is unregistered, a legal conveyance of the land to him, the buyer gives over any outstanding balance of the purchase price. A straightforward transfer form that needs to be submitted to the *Land Registry is given to the buyer if the land is registered. Either way, until title is registered, the buyer is not the land's legitimate owner.
