Legal Terms -concurrent jurisdiction
The portion of the Court of Chancery's jurisdiction that was equally enforced in common law courts prior to the Judicature Acts 1873–75; equity typically assumed jurisdiction when common law remedies proved insufficient. All High Court divisions have concurrent jurisdiction under the Judicature Acts, however the Chancery Division is where certain remedies, such particular performance and injunctions, are more frequently requested.
