A court order under the Children Act 1989 that mandates a *Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service officer, or an officer of a local authority, to provide short-term support for the family by advising, assisting, and befriending a specific child or a person closely connected with the child (such as a parent). The order is valid for a maximum of twelve months and may only be issued with the consent of the individual in question (excluding the infant).
