Legal Terms - Farm Business Tenancy
A tenancy established under the Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995. A farm business tenancy is defined as a land tenancy granted on or after September 1, 1995 for agricultural usage. The system does not guarantee tenure security. Either party can terminate the tenancy by providing at least one year's notice. The tenancy may enable development into enterprises beyond agriculture. Tenants can receive compensation for changes made with the landlord's consent at the end of their tenancy.
