A safety criterion that consumer products must adhere to in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act 1987 and the General Product Safety Regulations 1994. The products must be reasonably safe considering all relevant factors, such as their marketing methods, including any usage instructions or warnings; adherence to established safety standards for similar products; and the feasibility of implementing additional safety measures. Suppliers of consumer goods who do not comply with safety regulations commit an offense.
