KembaraXtra - Medical Terms - abrasion
Abrasion has several meanings in medicine and dentistry. It may refer to a superficial wound or graze in which the outer layer of skin or mucous membrane is scraped away. In dentistry, it describes the wearing down of teeth, particularly near the necks of the teeth, often caused by excessive brushing and sometimes worsened by erosion. More generally, abrasion means any rubbing or scraping action that results in surface wear.
