KembaraXtra - Medical Terms - acro-
The prefix acro- is a combining form used in medical terminology to refer to extremities, height, or extreme intensity. In many medical terms, it indicates parts of the body located at the outermost regions, such as the hands, feet, fingers, or toes. For example, acrohypothermy describes abnormal coldness affecting the extremities.

In other contexts, the prefix may refer to heights or elevated places, as in acrophobia, which is the fear of heights. It can also indicate an extreme degree of a condition, such as acromania, meaning an unusually intense form of mania. The prefix therefore provides important descriptive meaning when forming medical terms.
