The action of amobarbital

Method of Operation 
For the purpose of enhancing the effects of GABA, it binds to the barbiturate binding site on the GABAA receptor. At larger concentrations, it is possible to enhance channel opening even when GABA is not present.To be taken orally. It is metabolized by the P450 system in the liver.24–36 hours is the half life.

Use in Clinical Settings
