Artemether and lumefantrine: How They Work

Action Process
The enzyme sarcoplasmic-endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase is inhibited by artemether in falciparum.
In the parasite food vacuole, lumefantrine blocks haem metabolism. When taken orally. Your half-life, as an artemether, is between three and seven hours. A half-life of 4-7 days is given by lumefantrine.
In a clinical setting, it is used to treat acute, simple falciparum malaria.
Serious Side Effects- Irritable bowel syndrome, vertigo, headache, parasthesia, myalgia, rash.
