The 'atypical' antidepressant action of bupropion. Use in Clinical Settings When treating serious depression, either on its own or in conjunction with SSRIs. Additionally used to assist individuals in quitting smoking tobacco. The development of clinical effects can take several weeks. Adverse Effects Agitation, tremor, dry mouth, nausea, sleeplessness, and skin rashes are some of the side symptoms that one may experience. The weight gain and sexual dysfunction that are prevalent side effects of other antidepressants are not caused by this medication. When used in higher quantities, seizures may be triggered.
