Action Fungicidal via weakening the fungus cell wall.

Method of Operation
prevents the synthesis of 1,3-beta-D-glucan, which is absent from mammalian cells yet is an essential part of the fungal cell wall.
Given i.v. Half-life ~9h.

Application in Clinical Practice
Candidiasis; aspergillosis.

Adverse Reactions
GIT disturbances; headache, dizziness, rash.
