Pharmacology - Celecoxib
Actions
Anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic, and analgesic effects are all possible. There was no antiplatelet effect.

Modes of Action
COX-2, the enzyme that is increased in sites of inflammation, is selectively inhibited by this method. The constitutive enzyme that is responsible for the production of physiologically significant prostaglandins is COX-1. Celecoxib is 10–20 times more active on COX-2 than it is on COX-1.

It is administered orally, with a half-life of approximately 11 hours, and it is inactivated in the liver.

Use in Clinical Settings
Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis are these conditions. Given that there is no antiplatelet action, there is no cardioprotective impact.

Adverse Effects
Traditional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have fewer harmful effects on the gastrointestinal tract. Some renal toxicity due to the fact that COX-2 is found in the kidney in a constitutive manner.
