Pharmacology - Enfuvirtide
Inhibiting HIV entrance into host cells is the action of enfuvirtide. Functions by attaching to an HIV envelope subunit, which in turn blocks the virus from infecting the mammalian cell by preventing it from fusing with the target cell membrane. Administered through intravenous injection. The half-life is four hours. Use in Clinical Settings infection with HIV-1 while taking other antiretrovirals (ARTs). Negative Impacts Reactions caused by hypersensitivity.
