​Pharmacology - Ferrous Sulfate 
When red blood cell precursors are present in the bone marrow, it is utilized in the process of producing haemoglobin.

Orally administered.

Iron deficiency anaemia is used in clinical settings.

Dose-related gastrointestinal (GI) disturbances, including nausea, epigastric discomfort, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea, are among the adverse effects.

Desferrioxamine, an iron chelator, is used to treat iron toxicity regardless of whether it is acute (caused by the consumption of an excessive amount of iron salts) or chronic (caused by frequent blood transfusions, for example).
Pharmaceuticals that share comparable qualities


Drugs with similar characteristics 
It is recommended to take ferrous fumarate and ferrous gluconate orally. A slow intravenous infusion or a deep intramuscular injection to administer iron dextran.
