Action Fungistatic by blocking the synthesis of ergosterol - a key component of fungal cell membranes (absent in mammalian cells).

Method of Operation
 Retains The p450-dependent enzyme 14 alpha demethylase is crucial for the transformation of lanosterol into ergosterol. administered orally or intravenously, extensively dispersed, and entering the CSF, eye fluids, vaginal tissue, nails, saliva, and skin. Approximately 25 hours is the half-life.

Application in Clinical Practice 
Histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, coccidiomycosis, cryptococcal meningitis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and tinea pedis are examples of invasive and localized candidiasis.

Adverse Effects
GIT problems, such as rash and headaches. Less frequently liver problems, hypersensitivity responses.
