​Pharmacology - Magnesium Sulfate 
Osmotic purgative and antidysrhythmic properties are exhibited by magnesium sulfate.

Method of Operation 
It slows the conduction of AV nodes. a reduction in the increased cardiac excitability that is caused by hypomagnesaemia, which is a typical complication following heart surgery. Intravenously given.

Use in Clinical Settings 
After bypass surgery, the prevention of supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular arrhythmias is taken into consideration.

Muscle weakness is one of the adverse effects.
