Action 
Vasoconstriction, nasal decongestion, and pupil dilation without any effect on accommodation are all symptoms of this condition.

Mode of Action 
Activates the sarcoplasmic reticulum to release calcium into the bloodstream. Activation of the contractile mechanism is brought about by the elevated calcium.

The process of absorbing, distributing, and eliminating 
 Administered intranasally or topically in the eye, the plasma half-life is three hours (it is greater in elderly patients).

Use in Clinical Settings 
In the treatment of nasal congestion; for opthalmoscopy

Adverse Effects 
In addition to hypertension, reflex bradycardia
