Action of Pyrazinamide: Bactericidal against actively dividing mycobacteria within cells. A lot happens in the first few months.

Action Process 
Turns into pyrazinoic acid, which stops Mycobacterium tuberculosis from transporting its cargo across its membrane and interrupts its energetics. Drugs like phenytoin, oral contraceptives, glucocorticoids, narcotic analgesics, and anticoagulants have their effectiveness reduced when metabolizing enzymes are activated.Upon ingestion, it disperses throughout the body, enters the cerebrospinal fluid, and is subsequently eliminated through thirst.

Application in Clinical Practice
Chest disease (when used together other medications). Meningitis caused by staphylococcus bacteria.

Risk of Side Effects
 Serious hepatotoxicity, rash, sideroblastic anemia, gastrointestinal distress, and joint aches are possible side effects.
