Causes of hematemesis:
• Aortoenteric fistula
• Carcinoma of esophagus or stomach
• Esophageal varices
• Gastric or duodenal ulcer or erosions
• Mallory-Weiss tear (a laceration at the gastroesophageal junction)
• Ulcerated gastrointestinal stromal tumor
• Ulcerative esophagitis
• Vascular malformations
