True polycythaemia:
1 °: Polycythaemia rubra vera
2°: Appropriate j in erythropoietin: chronic hypoxia, e.g. high altitude,
chronic lung disease, cyanotic heart disease. Inappropriate j in
erythropoietin, e.g. renal cell carcinoma/cysts, hepatoma, cerebellar
haemangioblastoma, fibroids
