Infection: epiglottitis, croup in children, respiratory papillomata (HPV warts on
the larynx), retropharyngeal abscess
Laryngeal oedema (anaphylaxis, smoke inhalation)
Laryngeal carcinoma
Cricoarytenoid rheumatoid arthritis
Tracheal stenosis (following surgery/intubation/tracheostomy)

Extramural: Goitre
Lymphadenopathy
