KembaraXtra-Psychology – Bem Sex Role Inventory
The Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) is a psychological assessment developed by Sandra Bem in 1974 to measure individuals’ identification with culturally defined masculine and feminine characteristics. Rather than treating masculinity and femininity as opposite ends of a single continuum, the inventory conceptualizes them as independent dimensions, allowing for the classification of individuals as masculine, feminine, androgynous, or undifferentiated. The BSRI was influential in challenging traditional gender-role assumptions and contributed significantly to research on gender identity, personality, and socialization processes.
