Definition
A conjunctive eye movement is another name for a conjugate movement, in which both eyes move together in the same direction. Examples include both eyes turning to the left, shifting upward, or tracking a moving object across the visual field.
Neurological Control
Conjunctive eye movements depend on coordinated activity among cortical eye fields, brainstem gaze centres, vestibular structures, and the cranial nerves controlling the extraocular muscles. This coordination keeps the eyes aligned so that corresponding retinal regions receive compatible visual information.
