Psychological Term — Anal Character 
In psychoanalytic theory, the anal character (or anal personality) develops when emotional development becomes fixated at the anal stage of psychosexual growth during early childhood. Freud and later theorists connected this fixation with adult behavioral traits including extreme orderliness, stubbornness, and frugality.
This cluster is sometimes summarized as the “three Ps”: pedantry, parsimony, and petulance. People displaying this character type may be excessively controlling, overly concerned with rules, neatness, or cleanliness, and resistant to change. The concept overlaps with what modern psychology calls obsessive–compulsive personality traits.
