In *Analysis of variance (ANOVA) refers to the characteristic of possessing solely main effects and without interaction effects, hence being represented by an additive model devoid of multiplicative components. In axiomatic measurement theory, a characteristic of a quantitative attribute whereby for any two levels of the attribute, a third level invariably exists such that the highest of the three levels equals the sum of the other two. The lack of this attribute is referred to as non-additivity.
