(Of or pertaining to) one who advocates agnosticism. agonist n. 1. An individual or animal fighting. Antagonist (1) comparison 2. A muscle contracting in the same direction as another. Oppose (2). 3. A molecule that attaches to *neuroreceptors and produces the same effects in stimulating or suppressing the *postsynaptic cells as the *neurotransmitter that would otherwise bind to those locations.
