KembaraXtra – Travel Terms: accredited agent
An accredited agent is a travel agent who has received a formal appointment from a transport principal or group of principals to sell their services. IATA publishes accredited agents in its Agency List, and the official IATA definition is “a passenger sales agent whose name is on the Agency List.” Locations listed (Head Office, Branch Office, and historically Satellite Ticket Printer locations) are called approved locations, distinguished from the wider organization that may own multiple locations; the entry notes that STP locations have largely been phased out following the introduction of e-ticketing.
