ACE has multiple meanings in travel and events. (1) It can mean the Association for Conferences and Events, an international coordinating body for the meetings industry with over a thousand members across more than fifty countries, covering suppliers, organizers, and users of conference, exhibition, and incentive travel facilities; it publishes the ACE Yearbook, and in August 2012 it legalized formation of a subsidiary, the Institute for Event Management, explicitly not associated with ITEM (International Institute for Event Management). (2) It can mean the Association of Cruise Experts, a Passenger Shipping Association division providing information and training to travel agents. (3) It can mean the Association of Catering Excellence. (4) It can mean Apprenticeship Certification England, an online system producing a new apprenticeship certificate approved by a UK minister, using seals that indicate level: bronze (Intermediate), silver (Advanced), and gold (Higher).
