- Covers every aspect of human deeds
- In modern usage:
- Sharīʿah is sometimes applied with a meaning equivalent to fiqh
- Fiqh (as part of Sharīʿah) is divided into four (4) categories:
- ʿIbādāt – religious worship and rituals
- Munākaḥāt – marriage and family laws
- Muʿāmalāt – commercial and transactional matters
- Jināyāt – offences, crimes, and punishments
