Nonvolatile storage refers to lasting storage. Nonvolatile storage exists in several formats, although they all share the fundamental trait that data remains intact after being written, persisting until deletion, regardless of power status. Nonvolatile storage drives are measured in two distinct manners. A standard computer often possesses hard drives or solid-state drives with storage capacities of 500 GB, 1 TB, or greater. Secondly, we assess the velocity at which storage devices can record and access data. This is quantified using the unit known as input/output operations per second (IOPS). Read-only memory (ROM) exemplifies nonvolatile storage.
