KembaraXtra-Computer Terms – ARIN:
ARIN stands for American Registry for Internet Numbers, a nonprofit organization responsible for managing and allocating Internet Protocol address resources in North and South America. Its primary role is to distribute IP address blocks and Autonomous System numbers to Internet service providers, organizations, and network operators in the region. ARIN also maintains a public database containing registration information about these Internet resources. The organization was created to separate the allocation of IP addresses from the management of top-level domain names, which had previously been handled together by Network Solutions as part of the InterNIC consortium. ARIN operates alongside other regional Internet registries such as RIPE in Europe and APNIC in the Asia-Pacific region, and together these organizations coordinate the global management of Internet address resources.
