KembaraXtra-Computer Terms – Automation:
Automation refers to the use of mechanical or electronic systems to perform tasks automatically, reducing or eliminating the need for direct human involvement. In general computing and industrial contexts, automation allows machines or software systems to carry out repetitive or complex operations efficiently and consistently. In another context, Automation—formerly known as OLE Automation—is a Microsoft technology that enables one software application to expose its internal objects and properties so they can be accessed and controlled by another application. In this system, the application that provides the object is called the server, while the application that uses or manipulates the object is called the client. This capability allows programs to work together seamlessly, such as when a word processing program displays and edits data from a spreadsheet application. Automation can operate locally on the same computer or remotely across a network and is typically used with high-level programming languages such as Microsoft Visual Basic and Microsoft Visual C++.
