A base station is a transmission facility used in wireless communication systems to send and receive signals from mobile devices such as cellular phones. It typically consists of a tower structure equipped with radio antennas and electronic equipment that manages wireless communication within a specific geographic area. Each base station covers a limited geographic region known as a cell.
