Botanical Terms -ADP, or adenosine diphosphate
Adenosine's high-energy phosphoric *ester, or *nucleotide, of the *nucleoside. At *pH 7, it can hydrolyze to produce inorganic phosphate and adenosine monophosphate, releasing 34 kJ/mol of energy in the process.

Botanical Terms -Adiantaceae
A fern family currently recognized as *Pteridaceae.
Adiantum (maidenhair ferns) (family *Pteridaceae) a genus of ferns whose all of the fronds are the same, typically having broad, fan-shaped leaflets and glossy, black petioles. Scaly rhizomes are present.Sori are carried on the reflexed tips of the leaflets close to the vein ends. A few are grown for their aesthetic value. Approximately 200 species exist. Botanical Terms - ATP, or adenosine triphosphate
High-energy phosphoric *ester, also known as a *nucleotide, of the nucleoside adenosine, which serves as the main energy-bearing molecule in all living things' cells. It releases a sizable quantity of free energy (34 kJ/mol at *pH 7) during its *hydrolysis to form ADP (*adenosine diphosphate) and inorganic phosphate, which powers several metabolic processes.
