Pharmacology - Buspirone
Buspirone serves as an anxiolytic agent.

Method of Operation
At 5-HT1A receptors, a partial agonist is present. Inhibits the ringing of serotonergic neurons, notably in the dorsal raphe nucleus, through its presynaptic action. It is also possible that actions on postsynaptic 5-HT1A receptors in the amygdala will occur. It takes between one and two weeks for a clinical response to be observed, which suggests that the effects may require more complicated and plastic modifications.

The first-pass metabolism is significant, yet it is administered orally. Despite having a half life of two to three hours, the effects are more long-lasting, which may be attributable to a metabolite that has a comparable activity.

Use in Clinical Settings
Generalised anxiety disorder.

Allergies and Reactions
Headaches, nausea, and dizziness are some of the symptoms. Vision that is hazy. Benzodiazepines are known to produce drowsiness and motor incoordination, but this substance does not cause dependence or any of those side effects.
