Pharmacology - Colchicine 
It reduces the discomfort and inflammation that are associated with gouty arthritis.

Modes of  Action 
Through the process of attaching to tubulin and blocking its polymerization into microtubules, it inhibits the migration of neutrophils into gouty joints on the body. Because of this, neutrophils are only able to move in a "drunken walk" manner.
Furthermore, it reduces the production of the chemokine known as leukotriene B4.

When taken orally, it is readily absorbed; the half-life is nine hours.

Use in Clinical Settings 
in order to avoid experiencing bouts of gout.

Adverse effects 
The bone marrow depression that is produced by other medicines may be exacerbated by this substance.Symptoms include diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting on occasion. Dyscrasias of the blood can take place.
