Gonadal function is inhibited by the suppression of the surge of gonadotrophins that occurs during the midcycle.
When taken orally, the half life is greater than fifteen hours.
Clinical Use Treatment of endometriosis.
Adverse Effects
Weight gain, acne, hot flushes, amenorrhea, and a masculinization of the voice (hirsutism, deepening of voice, etc.) are examples of the moderate effects that are commonly experienced.
