Pharmacology - Filgrastim
Engages in interactions with certain receptors on myeloid progenitor cells, resulting in the proliferation and differentiation of these cells. It has the ability to transport haemopoietic stem cells between the bone marrow and the circulation. Provided through intravenous injection, subcutaneous injection, or subcutaneous infusion.Only for use by physicians with extensive experience. Use in Clinical Settings Patients who have undergone cytotoxic chemotherapy for cancer, bone marrow transplantation, or HIV infection may experience neutropenia. Adverse Effects Symptoms include gastrointestinal distress, bone pain, muscle ache, fever, rash, and baldness.
